[Review Video] The beginning of a new Don't Starve series

Hey, CboxHero. Pollichops here.

  • Ok, first off, I like your intro. My only complaint is that it disappears a little too fast.

  • Your commentary is actually kinda unique. You have this likability about you and your youtube persona has a sarcastic-without-being-rude vibe too. I thought it was pretty funny. There were just a few spots where it seemed you ran out of things to talk about, but that'll get better as you do this more. Also, you don't need to fill every moment with commentary. Actually, I don't recommend it. Sometimes, it becomes a little overwhelming and makes it hard to keep up with the entire commentary. Try engaging the audience with a personal story or something every once in a while as long as its relevant. Like, let's say something in the gameplay "reminds you of this one time where... blah blah blah" It can help pace the commentary, and keep it moving along. Just an idea to toss in every once in a while.

  • The audio is alright. The balance between your game and commentary is great. There are just a few spots where the mic gets too loud or too quiet. Scary things in games are scary, but not tweaking your audio levels is much scarier.

  • Thumbnail is a pretty... lackluster. I think you could definitely do more with it. Especially in the area of branding.

  • *Branding? Branding. Nothing in the thumbnail lets me know this is your video. I like your intro, but that's where your brand stops. (I know this isn't a channel review, but just hear me out now) Your intro, icon, and channel art don't match each other at all. It's like they're all from separate channels. I personally liked the simplicity of your intro along with its design, so maybe build your channel around that.

  • The ending was kind of abrupt. No endcard or call to action or fan engagement. I think adding a little sign off or at least an endcard could do you wonders.

Not a bad channel reboot. I think you've got a solid thing going. You'll just need to take some time to work out a handful of production kinks. Keep at it, and you'll just keep getting better.

Hope this helps!
