You need to understand that just because a game doesn't review well with critic A doesn't mean their opinion is invalid because 'they don't get it'. If someone doesn't like Dark Souls, the reasons why are their own, and they're as valid as any other. They think the game is too undersaturated and the music is dumb? Cool, as long as they give their reason that is valuable for a review. It will give you the information in a review that you need to make your own decision. That is the point of reviews.

Reviewers don't need to agree with you to be useful, they don't need to like the same things you like to be useful. If you used to follow somoene like TotalBiscuit and found his reviews useful, that doesn't mean you would automatically enjoy Warhammer 40k Space Marine because he spent hours going on about how great it was, but if what he said in that review interested you enough to maybe give the game a shot? He did his job.
