The parties have literally swapped views and exchanged views and altered views several times of the course of history. The grass roots party which is now the Republican party was a single-issue party founded to abolish or relieve slavery.

The issue is people don't fucking care. As long as the system is working smooth-enough and not directly impacting any of their rights then they do not feel compelled to do anything about the political system except maybe bitch here and there about how there is maybe a large issue topic they may or may not agree with.

If you've read the federalist papers you would know pretty much your entire opening statement is factually incorrect. I don't feel the need to pull out citations of the people who wrote the constitution but if you look up James Madison's Federalist No. 10 maybe you can get a better understanding of what some of your "founding fathers" thought because they sure as shit didn't think this was going to be a 2 party system 250 years later.

By the way who the fuck cares what they thought, we shouldn't be running our fucking country on what people thought in 1776. They were shitting in holes, held slaves, and lynched minorities, definitely not nearly as civilized as people are today.

btw Britain has also undergone serious political reform. dudes were fighting with the king back then. you're referencing current UK politics in a 1776 mentality.
