See all the Ferrari fans rising up and cheering when Hakkinen goes off? Nothing new move on.

People can in most circumstances tell when a crash is serious or not and when it is nobody is going to cheer. Also, they don't cheer because a driver gets hurt, they cheer because when a driver goes off, their driver/team scores points and the crashed driver doesn't. When immediate after a crash it becomes clear it was serious, almost everybody (except some stupid drunk people) will be respectful.

It is like saying that football fans cannot cheer when the other team scores an own goal.
