Yes, theroot is trash and this opinion article is embarrassing. Despite the wild ride on the market this year only the DOW is in the red for the year, which is also the worst of the major markets as it literally only factors in 30 companies. Tech-heavy NASDAQ is up ~9%, which actually isn't a bad return halfway through the year. Small-cap Russell 2000 is up about 5% on the year, while not fantastic, isn't terrible either. S&P is the most concerning, as it is probably the best judge of the market as a whole, is only up about 1.8% through 6 months...that is admittedly pretty poor. Overall the market hasn't been going gangbusters this year but overall it is up. But hey, why not upvote some early morning futures articles when they are down .5%?
