Ridiculous Impact! Know the vast world that you're stepping your foot into

While this is true for almost all mobile gacha games, this imo is different for Genshin. Genshin has a lot of western audience and whales. Even according to latest data around 20%(45 million) of total revenue is from US. That is a lot. So yeah western audience is quite huge in genshin and has the ability to make impact. Also the main market ,that is, China are the ones which are revolting the most

Just want to say I agree with everything you said in this post. I do agree with 45mil being a lot of money and losing the western audience would be a lost. However, I do want to point out that many of the western audience are getting a taste of gacha games and have been baited by the prices/gacha rates, thinking that they will actually get their money's worth. To MiHoYo, the players who have never played a game with this system are just a bonus to a paycheck. Their cashcow comes from players (primarily Asia) who will continuously spend their money on this game. Another way to look at it is that the money that comes from the (mainstream) western audience, is money made that was never intended to be made.
