I am not anti anything. Hispanic Catholism does a wonderful job of creating docile workers which are useful for export. The Chinese and to some degree the Japanese and South Koreans have capitalized on this.
Within Catholism there are a wide range of beliefs and practices. For example Graham Greene is a Catholic, but his Catholism is vastly different from Hispanic Catholism.
The Philippines is an interesting nation in that it is Austronesian but its culture has been heavily influenced by 500+ years of Catholism. Malaysians are originally Austronesian but they where colonized by the British, compare the economies of the Philippines and Malaysia.
The Philippines is unique in that it was the first colony obtained by the Americans, the got it as a freebie from the Spanish American war. The Americans attempted what at the time they called "The little brown American Program". Basically the idea was USA would turn Filipinos into little brown Americans, and then they would grant the country independence and it would become a show case to show how wonderful American democracy is. This program would have failed regardless but the biggest impedment to it was the Catholic Church who actually incited Filipinos to fight the American soldiers.
The Philippines's economy is based on exporting labour. This is mainly because that is the only thing they are capable of. That is why the Filipino government takes extreme efforts to maintain a good public image. Also the Filipino government directly negotiates with other governments to get them to hire this labour.
The Philippines has published books on how to use things like affirnative action to their advantage. I was trolling rhe author of one of these books, and he indirectly admitted that he is only concerned about Filipino rights in other countries and no one else's rights.
Trivia question. After the Spanish American war was over, USA paid Spain approximately $20 million for their American possessions, Spain then threw in the Philippines as a freebie. When the Americans occupied the Philippines they faced constant terrorist attack, how much did the US government have to pay the Carholic Church to stop these attacks ?
