Right to repair advocate Louis Rossmann was denied business financing for seven years due to a lien & warrant placed on his business in 2016 which was issued "in error" to a P.O. Box in Maine.

The age of repair has already passed to be honest. Nowadays everything is so complex with multiple sensors and networked components that repairing it does require some expertise. Even a kettle has digital displays and other unnecessary components now. And there are multiple supply chains producing components so you need to find the right one.

In the past, before everything was this way, repairing something was as simple as looking for a spare part and ordering it. There would usually be only one or two suppliers as well.

Rossman is fighting less for the right to repair your own products and more for the fight to choose which company can service your product. I’m an Indian and I see this transition right now.
