Right wing blogger Jenna Abrams, who has 70,000 followers, does not exist, was created by St. Petersburg troll farm

This practice is common online. Big bot accounts are nothing new, and they've existed for many years. Majority of them are used for advertising purposes. They buy up thousands of followers to make it seem like they're popular, and to get real people to follow. When the account becomes big enough, they'll get advertisers contacting them, and offer them money to promote their product or message.

There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions fake accounts on social media sites, and there's no good way of checking their legitimacy. The average person is dumb enough to believe what ever is put in front of them. There's a good chance that 2 out of 3 people will think that the person in the photo is real. Multiply that by several thousand, and you have thousands of people convinced that the person real, until someone points out with proof that they're not. In some cases the person who knows that the account is fake will not bother saying anything, because they know its purpose is satire or trolling.

This is just another clickbait article about something obvious, with very little facts to back up their original claim. Just your usual "post it before someone else does to get views/likes" bs, made by people who know as much about anything as the 2 out of 3 people who fall for these trolls. Someone made you look stupid online? Accuse them of being a Russian Bot, and somehow you win!
