RIP Rosa

I self-identify as a democratic socialist, and it bothers me quite a bit that democratic socialist has come to be defined as social democrat.

I think the economy should be democratically controlled. Personally, I'd prefer that unions replace management, and become the owner of their enterprises. The economy controlled by the workers(socialism) through the union, which is democratically elected by the workers. Democratic socialism.

I'm unhappy with the recent development(is it recent? Or have I just been asleep?) where democratic socialism is a new word for social democracy. Mostly because I'm afraid most people won't understand the difference between socialism and democratic socialism(social democracy), and think it's the difference between Soviet communism and Scandinavian social democracy, which doesn't leave an actual word for our beliefs for the less or misinformed.
