The rise of comedy-news programs, like Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert or John Oliver, may actually help inform the public. A new neuroimaging study using fMRI suggests that humor might make news and politics more socially relevant, and therefore motivate people to remember it and share it.

Yeah, I thought that would be the main point of contention, but "open borders" type of people also more often than not fall into the "nobody needs a gun, they are fully automatic baby Murdering machines that have no purpose in this world" so I don't think I'd lose many to the second part that I didn't already list in the first. Those same people also never really left their suburbs which is why I think they feel a need to over-compensate in terror need to feel worldly and knowledgeable of all people.

That or I've had acquaintances of mine start getting riled up because, verbatim "DO YOUR KNOW HOW MANY OF MY FAMILY WOULDN'T BE HERE IF NOT FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION". As if their benefit should make it the rule of law. those are just the main single Corey issues I can think of so obviously it'll lack support from a lot of people. It's also the only practical way of going about it that isn't based in theory commune fantasy land.
