Risk having children taken / live feeling afraid of aliens in my bathroom

To be honest I've asked for referrals from a few other sources without being very specific. Most if not all of the time I'm offered an SSRI, or asked to visit a local clinic for free counselling on a walk in basis. It's hard to see a psychiatrist unless you're literally submitted to the mental health ward in a crisis situation, i.e suicide attempt, violent outburst, near death as a result of a disorder, etc. You can get 'Therapy' but that doesn't mean they're licensed to diagnose or administer treatment, in most cases you're not assigned a licensed Therapist. They're in high demand, few and far between, and you have got to have a very good reason for needing one. I guess that's the problem with public health care, at least how I understand it. The fact is I don't understand it, I'm operating on assumptions I've made based on years of experience with it, which doesn't mean I'm not being misled.
