Rivals Thread: Summer Transfer Window 2018

I'm not fussed about Arsenal's window. Leno isn't that good and aside from Torreira I don't highly rate any of their other deals. If Auba, Ozil, Ramsey and Laca click next season they could end up a real glass cannon side like we were in 13/14. Still think they'' finish 6th.

Tottenham have a real make or break season. Keeping all their players is great as they have my favourite squad out of the top 6 in terms of the most players I'd want to sign, but will Poch/Kane be tempted by Madrid, Eriksen by Barca, Son by Liverpool (please) if they miss out on top 4, especially on their 'low' wages?

United's window is bizarre. I think their squad is still really great overall but I'm not sold on Fred or Dalot, and their lack of quality full backs, right wingers or CB depth is not good at all. They're an injury to Lukaku or Matic away from being a bit short in critical areas, so maybe a 352 is the way to go for them? I expect 4th.

Chelsea have done better than expected but I still think factoring in keeping Hazard as part of a 'successful' window makes no sense, especially as he hasn't signed a new deal and may well push for a move to reunite with Courtois next year if Chelsea have a bad season again, especially if Madrid decide to spend big next summer as expected, or use Kovacic as a makeweight. Speaking of, his style of play doesn't strike me as something that will necessarily be adaptable to the prem straight away, so Chelsea may once again find themselves reliant on Azpi, Kante and Hazard to win games and keep clean sheets. That being said, I think Morata is going to have a good year, and provided he does, I think top 4 is achievable. I'm guessing 3rd, this is my wildcard of sorts.

Onto Liverpool, I love our business this summer but the attacking depth still worries me. In fact, a long-term injury to Firmino or Van Dijk could completely derail our season, but lets not think about that. Ignoring the injured Ox, we have 6 top-6 level central midfielders, and nice depth everywhere else. I'm on board the hype train, sorry. We finish 2nd and Keita and Mane destroy the league.

I still expect a City PL win, as they have so many world class or borderline players, and teams seem to refuse to attack them on the counter the way they attack us, United, Spurs. Its frustrating as City lost a couple of games last season when the other team actually came to play, notably vs us and the second half of United. That defence could be better, and so could that central midfield depth, but that doesn't matter when teams are so scared of the Guardiola reputation that they give you 90 minutes of possession and you have the world's best front 5/6. Think they'll get about 92 points, sadly.
