I think it’s false equivalency. It’s not like Turbo has been on bad teams. He was on Dignitas, went to NRG, and is now playing with Envy. His recent teammates have been: Panda, Kaydop, Garrett, Justin, Mist, and Atomic. And what gets him these spots on top teams is largely reputation and LAN experience.

He’s not a bad player. He knows when to push up into the slot for a shot and when to back off better than anyone. So many guys in the third man sport are super passive, and don’t have that experience and game sense to know when it’s safe to co. Turbo does. Maybe as good as anyone out there. And it gets him a lot of goals.

But is Turbo driving the success of that team? Is he the one responsible for the bulk of the success? Could he be replaced with Envy not dropping off at all?

No word of a lie, I think if you put Fireburner in that spot, Envy is just as dominant as they are now. Or Torment. Or Fairy. If we’re talking LAN, yeah you wanna go with Turbo.

But I’m just not buying what y’all are selling. Turbo is the passenger on this team. Mist is one of the best players in the world. He is absolutely ridiculous. Atomic has been lights out, and has elevated his game to the very top level.

He clearly doesn’t hurt the team. They’re great with him. But they’d be great without him too. I think people praising Turbo as the catalyst for their success are delusional.

Seriously. Fireburner. Great at challenges. Extensive 3rd man experience. He does all the same stuff Turbo does. You could swap Turbo with Fireburner and they’d be no worse off.
