Road Hard is Adam's Phantom Menace

I just finished watching it. Holy shit this movie sucks. He can't act. He writes into the script that people are calling him a genius and handing him a plum television job, despite having zero juice. Why does Howie Mandell love him so much? It's just shoe-horned into plot so he can end the movie quickly. Half of the movie are bits he's been doing on his show for 10+ years. The scenes where he is wooing Dianne Farr are painful. They know each other for a couple days and are madly in love. Why? Because it's a movie.

The whole thing where he did the bro-show, and his ex-partner is the king of late night? Yeah. We get it. That's your life. It's difficult to watch.

Why must he be the lead actor. He has one film credit as a lead actor from 8 years ago. Surely there are credible actors who could have played Bruce Madsen. My guess is that he is a narcissist and wants to see himself on screen. He wants to be the star of the movie, despite have no dramatic acting chops. Yeah he acted on the Man Show. He acted like a jerk-off, and was exceptional at it. This movie is not a jerk-off movie. He's attempting to make a romantic comedy, and he is terrible as the lead in it.

The movie has no flow. It is a very loose plot, with a bunch of scenes sewn together. And the ending is incredibly rushed. I have no idea how much time passed between the game show audition and the final scene. Did he do a season of the game show and then move to New Hampshire? Did he give up comedy to mooch off his new gal pal? I have no idea!

To be fair, 90% of movies suck, and this one at least has a couple laughs.

He should quit trying to make romantic comedies. His bread and butter is making adolescent males laugh, not charming women with his tender side.

I love ACS. Adam is my all-time favourite comedian, and has been for 15 years. I don't give a shit about his politics. This movie sucks.
