Robber points gun at Family Dollar employees — his last mistake was ignoring an armed customer behind him

I feel like a soulless bastard reading about the guilt and aftermath victims feel after defending themselves. Like, I kinda dehumanize criminals who threaten people’s lives, break into houses or anyone who puts another’s life at risk for their own personal gain and the world wouldn’t be any worse off from your action of ending their life. My girlfriend has expressed that she would not want to use my guns in self defense to kill someone but to me I feel like I’d see them like zombies or some shit and it kinda boggles me and makes me feel like a dick. I’m sure you’re flushed with emotion when you see the life leaving their eyes and whatnot though and they become human again. Thoughts?
