Technically RVP did come to United in his prime. His prime lasted from when he returned from injury back in 10/11 and scored 18 goals in the Prem from January to the end of the season (A record, equalled only by Henry and Ronaldo), till Sir Alex Fergusons retirement. His prime was short, but at his prime he was one of the best to ever play in this country.

Sadly most of his prime years were spent injured, but even in those years Van Persies class was clear to see. His most underrated season is the 08/09 season, where he finally managed to stay injury free, he didn't score as prolifically as he did later but his overall play was magnificent. Won Arsenals player of the season that year, though to be fair Fabregas was injured all season.
