A Roger's internet sales rep potentially scammed me

Ok so a quick update. I contacted Roger's Support through both live chat and call. Through live chat I managed to cancel the internet plan but still see that I am being billed for the plan. I called Roger's this time about the billing and they said that they would give me credit for the amount billed on Oct 4. My bill is due Sept 30 and the person who I was on call with told me to just ignore it and wait until Oct 4 to call back so I can get it refunded. I'm a bit skeptical about this as it gives them time beyond the "30-day buyer's remorse" that the person on the phone told me about. In fact, Oct. 4 is the day AFTER Sept 3, which is when I ordered this plan. Is there anything else I can do or do I have to wait and trust their word?
