Rogue Florida Guv’s Next Pandemic Fiasco: Vaccine Rollout

Smart move.

In my early 20s I moved from FL out to the northwest on a whim with no savings, and a few hundred in my checking account. It was such a struggle. Rented a room in an old house for $600/month and barely made first month's rent~lived there for just shy of 4 years and in that time had 'made my way up in the world' to a large studio apartment. Moved back to FL in the beginning of 2017 to finish school, and the move alone ate up the rest of my savings, so starting from square one in my home state felt like I'd taken 1 step forward and 5 steps back.

Since that time I've gotten my footing and am now doing well for myself and am in a fulfilling line of work that allows me to work remotely. Wife and I live in a large apartment and are looking to upgrade to a house, but the one thing that I will harp on is just making sure that you have a substantial nest egg prior to relocating. She grew up in Oregon, so all of the inlaws are still out on that coast. Would like to relocate permanently back out there in a couple of years but it's just a matter of saving first and foremost.

Nothing can slap you in the face harder than all expenses associated with moving. That being said, best of luck to you with that in the future! :)
