My Lyra Delos cost the same, AMG Teatro was more (which I wore out and had rebuilt by soundsmith....I’ll feature this soon) , and the ZYX Omega S was much more but I traded up so I was only out of pocket $3500. In the past, I’ve had a Shelter 501 that was only $1000 more than a decade ago and it’s nearly as good as the Lyra and a mk1 dynavector xx-2 that was $1800. I ran that one for ten years and still sold it for $1000. Oh, I also had a DV Te Kaitora which was a fantastic cartridge. Cheaper ones that I’ve had were mostly only cheap in price: namely Grado reference cartridges and clearaudio concept (sub-$1000) and they were good too, not as good as my current ones but very good with only a few (I won’t name them as I’m not bashing any brands) that were just flat.
