I get it that youre a new parent and you love your kid and blah blah. But it is so fucking selfish that you would risk your kid flipping out and ruining everyone around you's dinner just so you can have a "good night". Leave your kid at home or stay with your kid at home. Your kid isn't some special 1 in 10 billion kid. Every kid has separation anxiety from their parents.

My suggestion: don't be a dick. Take your kid to a family friendly restaurant. Where crying children won't bother other ppl. There are plenty of those in NYC. The romantic restaurant idea is not good bc other people are paying lots of money to eat there and your kid crying is going to ruin their night and they just wasted money bc some entitled asshole didn't want to leave their kid home.
