Ronaldo penalty to win the UEFA Champions League

He only scored the winning penalty because he chose to go 5th and Juanfran put him in a win win situation, miss it continues score you win. What if his team misses 2 before that because worse penalty takers went before him and he doesn't even take one because of it? i.e. Portugal at Euros. This is why you don't send your best taker last, you send them first so they make their penalties putting pressure on the other team. Also don't tell me you wanted him last because he can handle the pressure and won't miss. 08 against Chelsea and against Bayern? And don't tell me I'm using games from years ago because those were the last 2 big penalty shootouts in the CL he was in.

They were also fortunate they had one of the worst goalkeepers i've ever seen at saving penalties who falls to his right every time. Real Madrid players knew they would score every time after watching how awful he was in the PSV penalty shootout.

Don't tell me he scored 16 champions league goals and hence was the reason they got to the final. 7 of them came against Shakhtar and Malmo, where the refs handed them game with non-red cards and non-penalties. 1 against a Roma side that lost 6-1 to Barcelona and who's best player is 39 years old. 3 against an awful Wolfsburg team that came 8th in the Bundesliga and parted like the red sea in defence, the fact that Real Madrid even went 2-0 down to them is embarrassing. Then the semi finals against Man City a team who scraped the CL qualification on goal difference and lost their domestic league to Leicester a team that was on the brink of relegation a season ago, and Real Madrid only managed to beat them by a deflected goal. Europa league teams have had tougher runs of matches then this Real Madrid team had getting to the final. Don't tell me you play whats in front of you because i don't care because the fact is they were fortunate to be in the final. No Bayern. No Barcelona. Now they get to play a lottery game at a neutral stadium in Milan, rather than 2 legs with one at the Calderon.

Then comes the final, you go 1-0 up through an offside goal scored by Ramos and set up by Bale. Greizman has a terrible game and misses the penalty. Bale is your best attacking player. Ramos prevents a 3 on 1 counter attack. You concede and go to penalties. Real Madrid score all 4 penalties against a terrible keeper who always goes to his right. Ronaldo chose to go last which is not where your best taker should be. He scores. Then people like you go around saying he won you the trophy, and forget about your best players Ramos and Bale who actually won you the game.

I'm not criticising Ronaldo for going missing or for scoring the winning penalty or for scoring 16 goals or for beating the teams that were infront of him. Messi and Neymar also went missing against Atletico, went missing when Madrid came to the Nou Camp. The fact is in football one team always gets some fortune. What annoys me is people who try to spin the story and say "who better to take winning penalty", "ronaldo won them the game", "ok if he didn't win them the game he was the reason they were in the final","11 :)", "your just salty".

This Real Madrid team pulled a porto and there's no denying it. Doesn't it irk you when a team doesn't win their domestic league but wins the CL? The league is about consistency and CL was just complete utter luck.
