Rookie QB Stats - Discussion

He cleaned it up after coming back in from injury (though playing GB's defense cures a lot of offensive woes), but my overall point is he gets sloppy and loses his mechanics - which was the same knock he had coming out of college. I'm not trying to dump on the guy and paint him as a bust, I just do not see the major progression in his game.

That is more an indictment of the Jets franchise/coaching staff than Darnold himself (let's be honest, Bowles couldn't even groom defensive talent that was drafted onto the roster and that should be his specialty). I just do not think he's as clearly established as a "Can't Fail" as some seem to want to paint him.

Comparing him to the other QBs listed also leaves out him missing 3 games, but no need to get into a tit for tat. I likely judged him more harshly than Allen, but expectations probably factored into it a bit.
