I have adhd my roommate does not. We both are bad room mates for different reasons But we are compatible with our quirks and work as a team to keep the household together. We do each other favours without expecting it to be reciprocated. We also don’t share things where one persons lapse would negatively impact the other person. We also don’t hate each other? So when someone does something dumb it’s more funny than omg I can’t believe you. We also both think we are the bad roommate which probably helps.

If I had someone who was irritated by a pile of my dishes sitting neatly next to the sink for a week it would make it harder for me to eventually get around to doing it. Instead my roommate goes yeah but you did xyz so whatever who cares.
