[Ross County on Twitter] We are disappointed that our player Regan Charles-Cook has been subjected to racist abuse online following today’s match

I used to Scottish folk were really welcoming, especially in contrast to the English when it came to foreigners, immigrants etc but after living in England for some time, the main difference is the scale. In Scotland the ethnic minorities groups are so small there is not the impression of "foreigners taking are jobs" rhetoric of Brexit and the mainstream customs and traditions could be described as Scottish, British, Western whatever. In England, the population is just so much more diverse and eventually tensions arise in the community when large groups are assimilating into society, and you have all sorts of new customs entering the public sphere. I think with all the politics in recent times we Scots tend to think we are more progressive than we actually are, they are definitely very unpleasant parts of our society that are bubbling under the surface, we should use events like this to educate and change for the better
