The Roster Was Not The Issue Last Year So Stop Complaining. It Was Thibs.

So there's this story I really like a lot. So there was this cult back in the late 70s, but they didn't start out as a cult. They were just some weird religious/political hybrid that wound up having a bit of political clout, got the Mayor of frisco elected once, met with the veep and all that. One day they start getting some heat on them because there was some abuse in the ranks, surprise surprise. So they all pick up, a good 1000 of them and move to Guyana in South America. The leader starts getting a little (more) crazy and starts making the members watch propaganda flicks and reading the news over loudspeakers, shit like that. So he brainwashes the people enough (or the people willingly accepted this type of behavior, I guess it's your choice to decide) to the point where they held votes for an exit plan multiple times and on occasion the people voted for a mass suicide. So they'd line everyone up including the kids and passed out glasses filled with red liquid that was supposed to be poison and they were all told they'd be dead in 45 minutes. When they were still alive, everyone was told that it was just a loyalty test. So they kept running this exercise, and a thinking man might guess that over time more and more people starting drinking the red stuff and falling in line with the loyalty "tests". So one day they actually put cyanide in the glasses and 900 of em dropped dead.

Anyways, that's the story on the term "drinking the kool-aid". It's probably pretty common knowledge but I always found it fascinating. You just keep drinking and drinking and it starts off with this team being about some imaginary core set of values and you keep drinking no matter how much it changes despite of all evidence to the contrary. Like sure, I want the Bulls to win as much as anybody but come on man.
