ROTMG elitist surrenders to enemy invasion (2018, colorized)

Hey there, not exactly my place to jump in but I'm also not a fan of only letting the criticism go unresponded to.

Our revive system is not where it should be, arguably the ideology of the genre states it is an unacceptable evil; but it was a something we viewed that in our niche and, if done correctly, we could get away with not feeling dirty inside about it. A few things going from there: It was the biggest internal argument we've ever had as a team; it was not, and is still not where we want it to be to feel balanced; and where it is now, and especially after we figure out a way to change it correctly, it is easily one of if not our largest revenue sources that will be maintainable as far as we can see going forward. I don't have to the opportunity to talk the specifics of that change at this time, but if that mechanic if your biggest caveat with our design then we'll be extremely hopeful for a second glance after we get a chance to appropriately change the system. If we get there and you still feel it doesn't tackle the problem well enough, then we understand nonetheless. We are a developing 3 man studio and will have to make the choices that land us in the perfect medium of business and player satisfaction; we'll just attempt to put the defining lines as close together as we can in the process!
