Dear Reddit,

I beg of you to stop typing up that furious message about how you don’t understand what people like about Black Panther and exclaim how overrated you think it is, and take a look around. You are not the minority. There are thousands of comments expressing the exact same opinion, all complaining that the film is overrated, which is problematic, because if that many people believe it to be overrated then it sort of isn’t. If anything, the quantity of criticisms it receives compared to the quality of the film actually make it underrated at this point, though I suspect anyone describing it that way would be downvotes into oblivion.

So just chill out and try your darned best to discuss the film without relentlessly attacking its popularity. No constructive conversation comes of that when most people feel the same. If you have an interesting thought about Black Panther, whether positive or negative, absolutely do share it. But if you just want to ensure that everyone knows that you think it is overrated, can you just... not?
