535. Stephanie Valencia- Redemption Island- 14th Place
I will admit that Stephanie is super attractive. However that’s about the only good thing that she brought to Survivor: Redemption Island.
Stephanie was the latest in a long line of Survivors known as ‘Russell’s dumb-ass girls’, as Russell himself so lovingly calls them. Her reason for joining up with Russell was so she could ride along with him and then easily beat him (I think). While that isn’t a bad strategy, it requires Russell actually taking over the game. It was evident in the first minute or so of Zapatera’s existence that Russell was never going to have an inch of power in Redemption Island. But Stephanie still joined up with Russell, making his moniker for her and Krista pretty accurate.
If Stephanie had turned invisible after Russell’s boot, that’d be one thing. However once Zapatera throws the challenge to get rid of Russell, Stephanie morphs from one of Russell’s dumb-ass girls into a different brand of monster. She turns into ‘nobody is playing the game’ Stephanie. I hate players who say that nobody is playing the game. It’s never true, and most of the time it’s spoken by people who have actively put themselves on the minorities of their tribes by being annoying. She’s so annoying to watch in these last few episodes, and she is very prominent in them, especially in the back-to-back boots of Krista and herself. What makes this even worse is that David Murphy agrees with her, because she is apparently in the 1-in-10 group that is smarter than him. She gets booted and then hailed as a g.oddess for unknown reasons.
Something I can appreciate Stephanie for is the fact that she was not voted to get on Cambodia. It’s fitting that no members of any Dark Ages cast were voted on, officially ending that era of Survivor.
Nominations are now Rich 2.0 (wow he’s been in a while), Rocky, Nicole, Lindsey, Rafe and Patricia. I’ll add Tom Buchanan 2.0 to the pool because he danced when a woman broke down for being sexually assaulted and is another prime example of why All Stars sucks.
