[Routine Help] Absence of consensus on the genuineness of most of the skincare products.

You should chill out, really. That's good for your skin.

Usualy one does not ask about a single ingredient of a thing - for the sake of convenience you ask about something as a whole, so the general public might answer, again, for the sake of convenience, if the product is good or not and what to look out for, when choosing one.

You don't ask a person 'hey, do you think the break pedals are good in the new BMW model? how about the carburettor?'

You would ask if the new model is any good and expect for someone who knows what they are talking about to tell about the pros and cons.

'I really didn't like it. The body is made of cheap metal and is prone to rusting and won't last long. Though the engine is almost invincible.'

By asking if moisturizers work I'm asking whether applying a mixture of small amounts of beneficial chemicals/natural compounds directly on my face will work? Is my skin capable of absorbing them and will the effect last in the long run? If yes, what chemicals/natural compounds are the most beneficial and what to look for?

Most people can handle the question and answer in a couple of sentences.

Here is a link of an article where a few moisturisers were tested.

Why would you test separate ingredients?

If I wanted that info - I would've asked whether (for example) Aloe Vera provide any benefits to my skin.

So, again, I'm asking about moisturizers as a whole.

Hope that clears my question up.
