I originally said this in the post discussion thread, but here's my take on what they're planning:

I'm thinking that this isn't just a setup for Reigns vs HHH, but for a triple threat match at Wrestlemania:

HHH vs Reigns vs...Rollins

Think about it, the Rollins and HHH showdown was sort of built up slowly and teased for awhile, but after Rollins got injured then it put a hold on anything like that. And on top of everything, Rollins never lost the title. So you have Reigns you'd have a right to a title rematch, and Rollins who'd also have a right to a title rematch since he never lost it. You'd have a Reigns/HHH feud, Rollins/HHH feud, and Rollins/Reigns feud all rolled up into one giant match. It just makes sense assuming Rollins will be healthy by then.

This could also set up an amazing Rollins face turn, and also finally a Reigns heel turn if they choose to be that brave. Like imagine if Vince came out and screwed HHH to make Reigns champion, then we see a Vince and Reigns alliance formed. But this leads to a split at the top between HHH and Vince, with Stephanie caught in the middle and having to choose between her husband and her father. So not only could we get an amzing main event out of this, but also the Rollins face turn we've been hoping for, the Reigns heel turn we've been hoping for, and a power struggle at the top that could finally make the whole Authority thing become interesting again. Then to top it off, we could get a post-wrestlemania Reigns vs Rollins feud going, but this time with Reigns as the heel and Rollins as the face.

Not saying this is what's gonna happen, it very well could just be Reigns vs HHH, but I honestly think they have something bigger planned with this whole thing. I just don't think WWE is gonna bank on a Reigns confetti party at Wrestlemania. They've tried to make this guy likable for so long but I think at this point they have to realize it just aint happening, I mean listen to the hugely negative reaction he got tonight. I know Vince is stubborn and tries to mold public opinion as much as possible, but I think even he has to realize that Reigns cannot reasonably remain face if he's gonna be at the top. A face Reigns vs HHH at Wrestlemania would be unbelievably predictable and a lose-lose situation. It would be so obvious that they were setting up Reigns for the win, and the other option of going for a swerve HHH win would just make no sense.

We could get a Reigns/HHH feud going up through Fastlane, and then have fuckin Rollins strut in at Fastlane and have everyone erupt in joyous boners. I sincerely think that no matter what, they aren't gonna go with Reigns winning the title at Wrestlmania as a face, its just too boring and predictable even for WWE. Which could either mean Reigns wins and turns heel, or Reigns just doesn't win (but the 2nd option would only make sense with Rollins in the mix).
