See my problem lies in that I remember when trap was used by the people it referred to, and then it got fetishized to the point of derogatory connotation just as words like “tranny” did before it. To some extent it seems like femboy is getting heavy fetishization too and I worry that’s hurting it. It seems to me like using the term trans or less slang like terms would be a safer bet.

But like you said, if you’re comfortable and that’s your accepted terminology then that’s that really.

And it’s also possible I don’t understand the full spectrum of these labels. Please don’t think I’m trying to be rude here I’m only having a legit dialogue for the betterment of my understanding and ability to refer to people with the respectful terms they desire. Either way I dropped “trap” long ago.
