[RUMOUR] Pato's agent(?) confirms we've signed him for €15m

He couldn't even reach the heights he did in Milan pre injury in the last three years in the Brazilian leagues, nothing short of a miracle would see him reach them for us.

Right, but you do realise that you often up your game depending on your opposition, right? Players, and professionals of any nature, often settle at a level they feel comfortable at if they are not being challenged. Thats not something exclusive to football.

The club that owns him preferred to send him on loan for two years while they paid half his wages rather than have him in the team. Now the loan is up and they are desperate to get rid of him. What about this makes him compelling?

This is what you are not getting. None of that matters. Benteke was class for Villa. Shevchenko was class for Milan. They moved on to bigger Premier League clubs and are/were not good enough. Sometimes it just doesn't work out and players do not fit systems.

Pato is the type of player that fits Klopp's system. The team is bigger than an individual player. A great engine is not made by one big brand part. It is the bringing together of parts that work together in great harmony and all execute and perform their function with precision. Just as those players have flopped in the Premier League, there are just as many who've flopped elsewhere and then come to the Premier League and done pretty good.

Pato runs into the channels, he has trickery, he links up with other attacking players, he can play clever passes to release the likes of Coutinho and Firmino, he drops deep to pick the ball up and does plenty of things that make him ideal as a striker for Klopp's system.

You know the Newcastle Lacazette thing is complete nonsense right?

Probably the case, however, that still doesn't negate from the overall point that splashing such a sum is a massive risk. I am more interested in Klopp finding players who (a) fit his system and (b) he believes he can work with them and get them to perform in the overall system for the overall good of the club.
