Run from it, dread it, Sequels still arrive

Why would I say I don't like Star Wars? I love the OT. I even like the prequels. The Darth Bane trilogy is gold. The Thrawn trilogy is great. I just got myself a Ultrasabers lightsaber that I'm stoked about. The sequels just suck. They're bad stories with bad characters. They're what's flat. They're what's artificial and forced. The ST is like a shitty shounen anime.

"No, he doesn't defect because he has a moral compass that survived conditioning! It was just MAGIC!"

Damn dude, for your talk of me hating Star Wars you seem to belittle it a lot. The Force isn't magic so much as it's spiritual. It's very similar to Haki in One Piece. It's accessed as an extension of a person's will. It was something anyone could use if they were open to it. My point was Finn cared before and that could develop into that power. A person who didn't have that moral compass couldn't develop the Force ability to empathically connect with others in the first place. Him defecting from the FO would be foreshadowing of his power, not his initial inspiration. And he could develop empathic abilities and nothing else like Leia in the OT! You realize there's infinite freedom in what Disney could have done with the story, which is what makes what they put out so disappointing. I read Bane and Thrawn after TLJ and it's astonishing how they had such great material to draw from and they threw it away. Go check them out. Great books.
