I run a poetry blog with over 90k followers and, 2 years ago, self-published a poetry book at the age of 20. AMA!

It is nice! My father, a professor, has always written. Now that he's retired he writes even more and has gotten some works published in various magazines and journals. I wouldn't say he is what got me into poetry, but he definitely encouraged sharing my feelings through words.

For blogging - I had a couple friends that would 'blog' through tumblr, and so I started posting my poems on a little blog there when I was 14. It gained traction quickly, as tumblr used to be bigger a couple years ago, and so I made a separate blog just for poetry. I used that blog to also share matters of my life, and help answer questions on advice for whoever needed it, so that helped gained a loyal following of people who knew I cared and was active on the forum.

Thanks for the question!
