Runaway Senators, Militias and Koch Money: What the Hell Just Happened in Oregon?

I very much agree that we need to divorce ourselves from left v right. There's many problems with it and it dumbs down political discourse in this country tremendously.

However the right wing in America is uniquely fucked. That's not saying the democrats are angels or that I even agree with most of what they say or do, but the GOP and the right wing in America has gone to a uniquely bizarre and dark place.

They are extremely insular in a way that is unique in America. They have state run media in Fox that openly condemns all other media. The right wing media has cultivated in their viewers the sense that they are the true Americans and that they are under siege.

I'm not saying they're all racist, they're not, but they are the group where all racists reside. They constantly run up deficits and then when the dems get into power will rail against tax increases even though they created the revenue hole that the dems have to get out of. It's happened for decades.

Compare the incarceration rates and scandals for the two parties going back for the last half century. It's not even close, the GOP when they get elected commit crime after crime after crime.

I could go on, but the whole "they're all the same" argument is disingenuous and just not true when you compare the two objectively.
