It's still a timed test at the end of the day and if you really can't complete it within the absurdly long time it gives you to then you don't deserve the A+ especially considering it doesn't take time or faults into the equation.

It's not about deserving the A+. It's about deserving the right to keep retrying that part over and over again. That's what I'm trying to say. Even if there's still a really long time, novice players can easily hit that time limit. I almost hit the time limit doing the last uphill landing part, and I've been playing since the second game (though was never great). I'm not saying it should give you an A+, I'm just saying it should not kick you out and should let you keep doing it over and over again as long as you want.
