Russell Wilson: It's not about money, it's about Super Bowls - ProFootballTalk

Oh, no doubt that Denver will benefit short-term from this. The issue is will they get 2019/first 5 weeks of 2020 Russ, or the most recent Russ? And will he be that 2019 Russ for the next five to six years?

At some point in time, they'll be tied to a large contract with large guarantees and watching multiple FAs leave the team because of a lack of dollars. And they'll be just like Seattle: treading water while trying to cobble together FAs, low draft picks, and trades for a decently competitive team.

Right now, Denver is a "not quite there" team and hoping a QB can return to his former glory (for the next seven years) so they can be on their way to a "one and done" team. Stranger things have happened, and, of course, I wouldn't be shocked if Russ suddenly went batshit crazy, but the dude's always been the bridesmaid.
