Why is Russia being in contact with Trump's entourage not a bigger story?

U.S. nuclear arsenal: 1. Small number of ICBMs, only good as a canary in the cage, not >useful for a second strike, could be used in a first strike against an >unarmed or disarmed opponent. 2. large number of SLBMs (submarines) good as a second strike >weapon but also good as a first strike weapon, can be launched a >few miles off enemy coastline. 3. large number of air launched stealth cruise missiles and gravity >bombs. Marginally useful for a second strike, very useful for a first >strike with stealth technology.

Russian nuclear arsenal: 1. large number of ICBMs with MIRV protected by ABM systems, >very useful for a second strike, not useful for a first strike (no >element of surprise). Railroad and truck launched ICBMs, again, >valuable second strike weapons, not useful for first strike. 2. moderate number of SLBMs - same as U.S. 3. small number of air launched nuclear weapons.

To me it looks like it is the U.S. that is straddling the fence between first and second strike usage. The Russians have built a totally defensive arsenal.
