Russia Falls into Recession

As a Ukrainian programmer who moved out of the country 8 years ago - DO NOT INVEST in our IT industry. It is as delusional as russian IT. Our programmers overestimate their technical ability. They do not understand business at all. They believe in DeFi nonsense (Buterin btw, personally met Putin after 2014 - enough said, huh?). Most of IT comes from the east (including myself unfortunatelly). They waste business hours learning Category Theory and other useless attempts at “unifying math” that no one asked for. They blindly follow rules (at least ones over 30).

Some top Ukrainian IT-outsourcing companies (like Luxoft) are originally russian - they currently recolored and still STAYING in Ukraine, still operate and hire.

This is a result of soviet education and overall dumbification and that’s where you should start if you want to help my country. Looking at countries like Lithuania where everyone over 30 is still obsessed with soviets and literally everyone has soviet mentality (and hostile towards Ukrainian refugees despite all vocal support - they literally tried to extort money from me), I’d say it will take decades for Ukraine to fight its past.

It is a lot of work, and I believe Ukrainians have much better chances than Baltics and eastern EU, but remember our army /= citizens. Zelenskij had to trick his voters (they were thinking he’s prorussian) in order to win, because previous guy (Poroshenko, elected ~2014) was literally from Yanukovich government who grew up in Russia-occupied Transnistria - that’s how dumb our voters are. Zelenskiy himself is sponsored by Dnipro’s (luckily antirussian) mafia, it is better of two evils basically. If Russians did not mentally degrade to the levels no one could expect during COVID and if they weren’t useless depressed parasites, who West were wasting their money for past 30 years or so (literally, they got all western shit and still were fucking complaining), we would be fucked.

P.S. I used to work in crypto, even had a stupidity to publish academic paper. I also worked for actual investment banking.
