That wasn't the point. Trump wanted to bring back 80's (or 40's) cocaine and amphetamine fueled banana republics because of frustration at not being able to have more money/power.

If the US and Russia had gangbanged Ukraine instead... all of those cute Anti-China moves would have solidified into an east-west power bloc that would have been Great! for the economy! At the expense of even greater instability overall, as alliances get confused and trampled.

ICBM nuclear treaties are a prime example of destabilization of peace time agreements. Add to the economy tanking because short term profits outranm long term stability... well hope every has a good emergency food supply.
