Russian athletes are banned from competing at the Rio 2016 Paralympics following the country's doping scandal.

You seem completely set on your fantasy of squeaky clean athletes. And I get that but, they are all doping to some extent. If you find yourself wondering why, just think about the pressure you would feel as an athlete. You are competing against other athletes that are already the best in the world at what they do, and they're doping on top of that. That is what you have to compete against. Of course you are going to engage in it on some level or another. You have to if you actually want to stand a chance.

Everyone has been doing it for a long time and it really doesn't imply anything negative about the athletes that do it. Take professional bodybuilding for example. Guys like Jay Cutler and Schwarzenegger. It's a completely open "secret" (everyone knows but doesn't discuss directly) that they're all roiding. Does that make Schwarzenegger a bad person or somehow less of an athlete? Absolutely not. It is an absolute shame what happened to Lance. Because everyone else was doing it too. His only crime was getting caught.

The Russian teams are being banned because of politics. And perhaps that their doping programs were state-run. The reasoning has little to do with doping itself.
