Russian cosmonauts unfurled a USSR flag this week. Outside the ISS, a station for non-political research and cooperation

I am not a tankie, but I know history. The country that did 75% of the leg work defeating the nazis, destroyed its army, manpower reserves, decimated its officer core and equipment (75% of its Tank) all from the literal brink of defeat, the nazis pretty much had everything they wanted, territory wise, they had encircled ~a million soviet soldier, the USSR was according to their own and german account, throwing whole divisions of 16-year-old girls(and ofc boys), just out of high school and with maybe handful of days of weapon/anti-tank/artillery training into the front line. The USSR was pretty much beaten by little Finland before the war, they expected the USSR to just give up, as we know they didn't. They lost a major chunk of their population, millions, and millions were scared. Development in the country was set back, whole cities and towns were in ruin, people were starving, and this war destroyed them.

You know what Imma let them put the flag there.
