Smart, but not brilliant, mathematician creates crypto on a dare at a party. He jokingly bets them $100 that no one would ever invest real money in a virtual currency. He is playing the long con though, because statistics say at least 5% of the population would invest, no matter how mercurial the benefits. He devises his "crypto-currency" system so that he will be the beneficiary of 50% of all accumulated monies no matter what the outcome of his experiment. He figures that he will at most lose $100.

Cut to January of 2017. He is now, on paper, the richest man in the world. Only a few people know his actual identity though. One of them is Vladamir Putin. The other?
