I did read it yes, but if you look at the charts in the article the difference is within 10% for every benchmark run.

It's cool and all that you're obsessed with that .8ghz, but you also talked about real world application in your comment. If you look at benchmarks and results from real world application, you would see that yes the 9700k is slightly faster in games. Also I'm not sure where you got the idea that Intel chips run more efficiently because they just don't.

I don't understand the reasoning behind "oh yeah let's buy a chip that is slightly better at one thing, but worse at literally everything else, runs hotter, and is less efficient"
