It’s not your imagination: Shopping on Amazon has gotten worse - Everything on Amazon is becoming an ad

My strategy is to utilize the filters extensively. Filter by only things shipped through Amazon.com or Amazon Warehouse (if it's a reputable brand just buy from their site), only display 4 star ratings and higher, and really refine what you're looking for by colour, material, etc. I look at buying guides 100% of the time to get an idea for appropriate prices for quality or specific items, and the filter reviews by recent to see if they've swapped the product for an inferior version or a different item altogether. This filters out about 75% of the crap. Amazon mostly works best if you know what you're trying to buy ahead of time, endless scrolling letting the algorithms try to convince you to buy Chinese crap is exhausting. I've also gone back to eBay, their filters are excellent too.
