It’s the r/Melbourne daily discussion thread [Saturday 08/01/2022]

My parents moved out west of Bundaberg a few weeks ago and have been staying in a caravan while doing renovations and unpacking all their stuff.

Tonight they woke up to flash flooding, caravan submerged, the dog missing, both cars mid waist deep in water. The actual house is on stumps and was above ankle deep in water. Brand new kitchen just went in, all new appliances and tv etc were on the floor, antique furniture and heirlooms in boxes still on the ground. Container in the yard with all their other stuff.

My heart aches for them right now. Not even a month there and the majority of their shit is destroyed or needs to be repaired and they lost their dog.
