I'm asian and all I had to do is look at the '92 LA riots and Japanese internment in the 40s and I was like fuck that, I am not allowing that to happen to me.
If you're black it's even worse, just look at the Tulsa Massacre - and then realize that there were hundreds of similar events in pretty much every town and city in the US in the late 1800s and early 1900s. In almost all of those events, the police, National Guard, and other government forces were the ones perpetrating those massacres.
Or just look at other countries right now. You think if every Hong Konger or North Korean or Uighur or Palestinian had a gun in their hands, there wouldn't be a full blown revolution occurring right now in their respective countries? I still cannot believe how many people just bury their heads in the sand and utter lame excuses like "well it would never get that bad here".
