S.T.E.M. or humanities preference?

Studying human sciences in college was the biggest mistake of my life.

Of course the classes were interesting and no need to study too hard but I ended up unemployed and I was refused minimal wages jobs because I was over qualified due to this degree lol. Out of all my classmates that got their degree, maybe 2 or 3 work in that field, the rest are unemployed or doing odd jobs. Don't listen to baby boomers when they say "just do what you love". Jobs market MUST be no 1 priority when you choose what to study, I wish someone had told me that earlier.

I have since switched my career orientation and am now a dev, and I have more career opportunities than I could ever dream of + I can do freelance or remote working if I want to.
