Do you realize how you sound? Bernie got blown the fuck out in this primary by voters. Is literally ever person who doesn’t vote for Bernard “the establishment?”

He ran a terrible campaign. He did absolutely nothing to correct any of the mistakes he made in 2016, and most of those issues got worse for him. He shot himself directly in the foot in Florida and his southern outreach was anemic. His most vocal supporters (and campaign staffers) constantly harassed anyone even remotely critical of him, which he dismissed as “Russian bots” acting out and never took seriously until it was too late. The animosity his campaign generated caused him to alienate other politicians whose endorsements should have been easy to grab, like Warren. Pete wrote about Sanders as his personal hero and was quite possibly the reason Pete got into politics to begin with, and he endorsed Biden immediately after dropping.

Sanders received and spent more money than anyone in the race, including large undisclosed sums from dark money groups like Our Revolution. Yet even with his funding advantage, he lost states to Biden where Biden literally had no presence, no organization on the ground, and made no campaign stops. Because Sanders entire campaign is based on a strategic blunder, trying to run for national office by building a bloc of young voters. We have plenty of data to show young people participate the least by far in elections, yet for some reason Sanders and his campaign thought they would defy all logic and data to do it.

Progressives who honestly care about this nation and enacting their agenda need to stop making the same lame fucking excuses as 2016 and take this election cycle to heart. They need to reflect on what went wrong and see what can be improved. But instead, they are going to throw tantrums like children and blame anyone and anything around them. Like “the establishment”.
